Michael Berk and Gerard Cousins


This was Michael's second appearance this year. Like his appearance last month alongside Roland Chadwick, Michael delivered an inspirational display of musicianship and technique, interweaving his own compositions alongside versions of well-known compositions comprising blue-grass, jazz and folk. Gerard Cousins began his musical studies in Brecon, Wales where he was born. He furthered his studies at the University of Leeds, studying with Graham Wade and was selected to study composition and performance for another year at the Enschede Conservatorium, Netherlands. After graduating with a B.Mus(Hons), Gerard moved to London deepening his knowledge of Spanish music by studying flamenco with Francisco Antonio. Gerard has performed widely in Europe and is an national and international competition prizewinner.
